Explore Your Local Farmers’ Markets

Weather or not you have your own garden Farmers’ markets offer local seasonal options you may not find in your garden or corner grocery. These markets promote successful economic outlets for 100s of small family farmers and owners of of other food entrepreneurs. Additionally they provide essential community gathering and celebration spaces.

Farmers’ markets provide an opportunity for us to expand our pallets and explore new vegetable options. Visit several. Many are open year round. Take the entire family. They encourage children to try new foods.

Some of the things you may find: Farm-fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, nuts, greens, berries, cheeses, herbs, eggs, flowers, nursery stock, and honey. Many are grown organically. There is often hand crafted items and live music.

METABOLIC BALANCE & FRESH FOODS

When selecting foods for ourselves and our families it is important to understand the importance of selecting the best foods. Metabolic Balance stresses the importance of fresh wholesome foods such as locally grown produce in season. Some of what I cover in the classes for my clients participating in my metabolic balance® program is to find fresh wholesome foods.

Enjoy and explore the full range of your metabolic balance® food plan and visit your farmer’s market this week. I have included a guide to some of the markets in the East Bay with links for more information.
