Where to Find California Foods in Season

I grew up in the Central Valley of California when it was considered to be the Fruit Basket of the World. It was exciting to be from an area that was the Raisin Capital, had the most fertile soil and purest aquifer in the world.

Although much has changed from the  California where I lived as a child, there is an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables in season year round. There is every reason to get to acquainted with the vast variety available, from citrus to kiwi and from Asian to Latin produce. Fresh, local, sustainable, and healthy. Broaden your horizons and try something new today!

Know what is in Season, download a chart of seasonal foods in California from Pacific Coast Farmer’s Market Association.

When selecting foods for ourselves and our families it is important to understand the importance of selecting the best foods. Metabolic Balance stresses the importance of fresh wholesome foods such as organically grown local produce in season. Some of what I cover in the classes for my clients participating in my metabolic balance® program is to find fresh wholesome foods.

Enjoy and explore the full range of your metabolic balance® food plan and visit your farmer’s market this week. I have included a guide to some of the markets in the East Bay with links for more information.
