HOW DOES ONE FIND BALANCE?
This is a question that Amy Erez of Sugi Health and I have spent years searching for ourselves and our clients. Being passionate about organic gardening and having a love of cooking (and eating!) has given us a practical understanding of the seasonal cycles and life cycles. These same cycles have a strong influence on our health.
BALANCE STARTS WITH NURTURING FROM THE INSIDE OUT
The food we eat is a big part of creating balance. It not only helps with health and weight it can help us function better in the world and feel calm. But eating is not enough; we need tools for healthy living®. Everyone has different needs and Balanced Living takes into account the individual.
The metabolic balance® approach to healthy eating has a strong scientific foundation that takes into consideration the importance of the body’s need for sufficient enzymes and hormones. Each personalized nutrition plan enlists the foods necessary to have a healthy metabolism.
The Sugi Way of Living™ teaches a new perspective that supports the profound internal changes that come with stepping into a new way of life.
The Balanced Living Program supports the use of seasonal, organic and local, fresh, whole foods. Each personalized plan includes a wide variety of choices including meats, beans, fish, vegetables, fruits, dairy and fermented foods.
SUPPORT FOR EVERY STAGE & CYCLE
During the early stages of the metabolic balance® process, the Sugi Way Tools will help to overcome possible reactions to the dietary changes that clear out old physical patterns. Detoxification can also affect the emotional state, so valuable elements of the Balanced Living program will also address the emotional/spiritual parts of the individual.
The Sugi Way™ Tools will be taught along with metabolic balance coaching in three group sessions over 4 months:
• Getting Prepared, July 18th, 10 am to 5 pm;
• Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, August 15th, 10 am to 5 pm;
• Creating a Lifestyle, September 12th, 10 am to 5 pm.
Inspired Balance (date to be announced) is a group session that occurs six months after the fourth phase of the metabolic balance process. In this gathering, participants reconvene to learn new Sugi Way tools and share challenges and successes.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING
Metabolic balance has changed my life for the better. I don’t waste time buying extra things that I don’t need or shouldn’t have which saves money. Now, I am not coughing and my eyes are now fresh and alive. I have become aware of my inner signals telling me what the right things are to eat for me. It was so easy, I was able to do the strict phase while traveling in Paris. ~ Alicia Nogueira, CO (Film artist, painter and owner of BaliDog Wearable Art)
The program (Metabolic Balance) is quite effective. I lost 20 lbs. and my husband has lost 50 since the beginning of the year. I’ve always had problems with blood sugar,and this diet is the best I’ve found for keeping my blood sugar levels steady. ~ Maureen Shepard, CCH, Penn Valley, CA
“Thank you, Amy, for your insights and guidance. I’m more confident now that there’s going to be a clear direction and purpose for me that will show itself soon. Patience is not one of my stronger virtues, so working with you will aid in relaxing into the moment and the process.” ~ Simone St. Clare, Martinez, CA
“I am very impressed with the Metabolic Balance diet. Being one of the most unmotivated “dieters”, I decided to try the MB diet to kickstart some good eating habits. I was quite surprised at the foods chosen for me based on my blood tests as there were some things that I love that I thought were no-nos for diets… and I lost 17 lbs in three weeks, felt great and it even resolved some of the hormonal symptoms I was having. And best of all, I have kept that weight off still six months later.” ~ J.M., Venice, CA
