Many women think that they are reducing the symptoms of menopause and generally supporting their health by drinking soy milk. In reality soy contains estrogen components that disturb estrogen in a negative way. Soy also has inhibitors of good thyroid function and can contribute to hypothyroidism.

One of the reasons soy is not good for us is that much of today’s soy is grown from genetically modified seeds. Caution should be taken to avoid products containing soy milk, tofu, and soy protein.

Naturally fermented soy products such as miso, nattokinase (natto), and tempeh are safe and beneficial soy products.
