The 2011 East Bay Women’s Conference, Embrace Strength-Imagine Success, presented by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce and Chevron Corporation, convenes Monday, March 7, 2011 at the San Ramon Marriott, 2600 Bishop Drive, San Ramon, CA. This year’s keynote speaker is award-winning playwright, activist, and author Eve Ensler.
Now in it sixth year, the EBWC is the only conference of its kind in San Francisco’s East Bay that provides women opportunities to come together and participate in programs of personal and professional enrichment and development. Recognized by the community for programming excellence, the EBWC has enjoyed sold out attendance of 525+ since its 2006 inaugural event.
The distinctive conference blends premier keynote and featured speaker presentations; breakout sessions focused on contemporary issues; exhibitor booths; and a fully stocked bookstore and author signings. On board are industry experts in business leadership; volunteerism; finance; health and nutrition; and effective relationships, among other topics.

Ms. Ensler joins a powerhouse group of previous EBWC keynote speakers including Lisa Ling, Isabel Allende, Madam Jehan Sadat, Gail Sheehy, and Linda Ellerbee. Ms. Ensler is a 1999 recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship in Playwriting; and in 2010, she was named one of 125 Women Who Changed Our World by Good Housekeeping Magazine. Her newest work, I Am An Emotional Creature: The Secret Life Of Girls Around The World, was released February 2010 in book form by Random House and made The New York Times Best Seller list.
