Roots of Homeopathy in California

hahnemannTHE HAHNEMANN HOSPITAL – 1907

The Hahnemann Hospital began as a homeopathic institution in the 1880s and became a full-fledged hospital in 1887. It was originally located on Haight and Octavia Streets and moved to this building at Maple and Sacramento Streets in 1901. Absorbed in the Children’s Hospital in the 1920s, a new building was constructed here in the 1970s and is now part of the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).
