ABOUT THE WORK
Systemic Family Constellation Work is a therapeutic process that is based on the understanding that traumatic events from one’s family lineage can be transferred into the next generations. Ancestral suffering can emerge in your life and may manifest through illness, addictions, eating disorders and/or destructive relationship patterns.
All members of a family system are deeply connected over many generations. This bond springs from a love that provides strength and a sense of belonging. The bond connects us to a family conscience that wants us to recognize all members of our family, including those who have been an outcast, dishonored, or forgotten.
In the constellation process, the unconscious bonding of a person to lineage-related traumatic events is re-enacted and intentionally redirected.
This workshop explores the theoretical underpinnings of this work which is used extensively throughout Europe in psychotherapeutic and medical settings. The work was first developed in Germany by Bert Hellinger, a psychoanalyst and family therapist.
FAMILY CONSTELLATION WORK HELPS YOU TO
• Make systemic entanglements conscious.
• Honor your ancestors and give them their rightful place.
• Unburden your current family system and yourself.
Constellations are a dynamic representation of space and time. Constellations are traditionally done in a group setting. Constellations are always done in a safe space. Respect and confidentiality are of chief concern. There are two types of participation, 1. people coming to a have a constellation done for themselves and, 2. as a representative.
A constellation is results oriented. The person who comes for a constellation has a problem they want to solve or a question they want to answer. It can be about anything. A family relationship, an illness, a goal they are trying to achieve but can’t figure out how to make it happen. Shift resulting from the constellation are usually seen in the days, weeks or months that follow a session.
Representatives are needed to represent people, places, and things in a constellation. People are needed to represent say yourself, fathers, mothers, siblings, grandparents, disease symptoms, countries, inheritance, war, religion, love, or whatever.
There is a healing benefit to representing too. A person is always chosen to represent who can benefit from the representation. It is connected with something that the representative needs to work out or experience.
Choosing to be a representative is a form of service. I was at a constellation once and there was a man there who said,”Today is my birthday and I am here today to represent because I can’t think of a more worthwhile thing to do on my birthday is to be here to help facilitate healing to others.” I could not be more impressed with his reverence and commitment to the process. Choosing to be a representative is also a way to experience the work to decide how to should proceed with one’s own constellation.
CONSTELLATIONS ARE FACILITATED BY ANNEKE HOGELAND
Anneke Hogeland will be our facilitator. Anneke has been a psychotherapist since 1990 and a homeopath since 1996. In her practice, she combines her knowledge of psychology, hypnosis, homeopathy, family constellation work, and various forms of energy psychology techniques.
WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING: I really enjoyed my work as a representative in the Family Constellation process and felt that it was a great honor to help another person gain some understanding and clarity around the particular circumstances we were exploring. It amazed me how real the emotions were and the insight it gave me into circumstances within my own family. ~ S. L., Vallejo, CA 6/1/2015
